‘Pomegranate’offers a taste of work from 130 artists currently studying MA Visual Arts atCamberwell College of Arts. This self-organised interim show is being held atBrixton East - a converted Victorian furniture factory, nearby to Brixton towncentre.
The event brings together diverse practitioners: book artists,printmakers, designer-makers, illustrators and digital artists. Pomegranate promises‘a snapshot of emerging artists in a state of flux, united by the rapiddevelopment of their work at this stage in their careers’. Forten days, the atmospheric and unique venue of Brixton East will be transformed;crammed full of fascinating, strange and beautiful images and objects.
A private view will be held on Thursday 27 February from 6pm onwards.
Well-known artists, curators, educators and others have been invited to celebrate theopening of this multi-faceted show. As well as sharing the fruits of their MA studies, Pomegranate exhibitors (and other partners) are reaching out to the local community and running a variety of public workshops and events throughout the show’s duration.
